Friday’s Fan Favoritism! Mr. Lobo’s SLEEPLESS KNIGHT of the Week!

Lobofan copyTHE SLEEPLESS KNIGHT OF THE WEEK–for April 20th-26th 2014

laneythrowbackSir Lawrence Laney Loftin is a MR. LOBO fan from way back and is in fact the poster child in our Fan of the Week graphic above.  Ever since he discovered CINEMA INSOMNIA on KEJB UPN 43 in Monroe, Louisiana, back in 2003-2004, our staff has been getting weird things in the mail from Laney–Christmas cards, postcards, magnets, books, kitsch, pulp-fiction, VHS tapes, and scandalous photos of himself with uninitiated pizza delivery girls.
We dropped in on Laney during a cross country tour and witnessed his mind boggling collection of Fantasy, Horror, Sci-fi, and Comic Book memorabilia.
It was then, in person, when Laney gave MR. LOBO the strangest gift of them all–a taxidermy piece of Cryptozoic-crypto-zoology–called a Hootenanny! This kin of the Jack-a-lope and the Swamp Booger was stuffed by his father after a close encounter. hootenanyThe Hootenany briefly appeared in our 2013 Haunted House Special and resembles a deer’s behind with bobcat teeth.

Semi-retired, Laney works at the Society for the Prevention of Meanness to Laney  when he is not lobbying for his local tavern or Pizza place to show Cinema Insomnia episodes on the big screen instead of Svengoolie.  248004_598820663471181_742911785_n

He spends countless hours making crude memes of MR. LOBO for the internet and has crashed MST3k screenings while wearing his CINEMA INSOMNIA T-shirt and handing out ZOM-BEE TV flyers!Lobofan

Thank You, Lawrence Laney Loftin, valued Sleepless Knight, for all your support over the years and for watching all those misunderstood movies. Mr. Lobo will be sending you our very first “fan of the week” award–THE SLEEPLESS KNIGHT OF THE WEEK–for April 20th-26th 2014, along with some copies of CINEMA INSOMNIA to run in any public place near you that will allow it!

Dear Dr. Lobo,
I miss your show. You were on my TV a long while ago and I remember enjoying it. Are you still shooting and making new CINEMA INSOMNIAC shows?

Your Fan,
Lacie Fairweather

Greetings Lacie!

Yes, MISTER LOBO’s show is still being made and is still airing. ZOM-BEE TV is a Free Horror and Entertainment Channel that currently programs classic and brand new episodes of CINEMA INSOMNIA.

ZOM-BEE TV is a CONNECTED TV channel that is now viewable using a ROKU video player.

ROKU is a brand of set-top converter box/player that can stream programming to your home TV screen without cable using your internet connection.

ZOM-BEE will soon be on Apple TV and other services including a mobile ap! For now, If you can’t get ZOM-BEE TV you might still need a ROKU.

The basic ROKU converter box is a little bit bigger than a deck of cards–they also have a stick that plugs into your HDMI port. It has video cable and HDMI cable jacks that can be plugged into your TV and it’s own remote.

Once plugged in, the box goes online and channels are available and searchable on your TV screen in the “channel store” and selected with your remote that comes with the ROKU.

Once you select a channel it is downloaded into your “my channels” cue so you can find them easily.

Most channels are free, some are pay, some are pay-on-demand. You can also use the Roku to access your Netflix account. You can play pause fast forward and rewind through most programs with your ROKU remote.

You can find ZOM-BEE TV in the category “Movies and Television”.

You can take your channels anywhere and watch them on a TV at a friends house or hotel room or whatever.

There is no monthly fee for the box. They are about 50 to 80 bucks and are often sold in Department Stores next to the Blue Ray Players.See you on your TV!

Look forward to having you again as a viewer…

Even cone-domed pipe fitters from the water planet need a break sometimes  MR. LOBO is on the road delivering Misunderstood Movies to the needy–but we still must observe Classic Cinema Insomnia Saturday. In this rare gem from the NASA archives your host presents INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN(1961), a Japanese sci-fi action romp featuring Space Chief! This was Mr. Lobo’s famous 2002 episode broadcast LIVE from the RUNIK 2 Satellite! Unfortunately he was not skilled enough to build wisecracking robots to help him host this foil wrapped turkey.
