All Hail Cinema Insomnia’s Fan of the Week!

25467_1226860955811_7001347_nIt’s almost not fair to give LARRY LEE MONIZ, the “fan of the week” award–since MR. LOBO considers Larry a trusted friend and collaborator…but his fellow CInsomniacs have spoken and by popular vote, he is our Sleepless Knight of the Week!

From his home in Fremont, CA this lover of misunderstood movies watched CINEMA INSOMNIA on KTEH PBS 54 from 2005-2008 and attended countless live shows hosted by Mr. Lobo. He routinely visited conventions where his movie host was a special guest. Larry stood out from the typical fan with his humor and creativity. He was usually dressed as “Joel” from Mystery Science Theater 3000 with his amazing home built Tom Servo robot.larryleewondercon

He also did an uncanny impression and Mr. Lobo invited  Larry to come on the 10th Anniversary season premiere of CINEMA INSOMNIA: ED’ WOOD’S VENUS FLYTRAP(1970) with his puppet and perform as “Larry Servo” in a spoof of MST3K.

Larry, an accomplished designer and artist, has impressed us with talents many times over the years–one of a kind Mr. Lobo greeting cards, wrapping paper–he even created original music for our 2013 Halloween Special.

FGBcartoonwebThank You, Larry Lee Moniz, valued Sleepless Knight, for all your support over the years and for watching all those misunderstood movies. Mr. Lobo will be sending you a “fan of the week” award–THE SLEEPLESS KNIGHT OF THE WEEK–for April 27th through May 4th 2014, along a Fake Ghost Buster badge from the Halloween Special!

The only time Mr. Lobo is glad to see paying customers run out of the theater screaming.Blobfest takes place in and around the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville.Saturday the 12th the theater will run double-features all day and there will be a fun street fair. The theme this year is giant monsters. Presented along with screenings of THE BLOB, films with really big stars like Godzilla, King Kong, and Mothra will be shown!

It was raining hard outside but Joan K. of the BLOBFEST team took these quick iphone shots of Mr. Lobo at the site of the original diner scene from the movie THE BLOB. The building itself has been refurbished but the lot, the foundation, and basement are as they were in the film.
