Win Stuff
Three ways to score Cinema Imsomnia DVD's this month...
1. Be the first to tell us, by e-mail, about a television station on which you saw our show that we didn't already list on our home page - and we'll send you a episode on DVD!
If your e-mail is the first to arrive telling us about a station which was not already listed on our home page (index.html - in the "Stations We Adore", above the map) - you win.
Send an e-mail to
which contains the call letters of the station, the channel number, the city and state in which the station is apparently based... In other words, give us enough information to identify the station so we can give them a call.
The Cinema Insomnia episode to which you're referring must have been broadcast between August 6 - 15, 2005.
2. Send us the call letters of any television station on which you saw our program - and we'll enter you in a drawing for a fat CI swag package!
What's in the swag package, you ask? Five episodes of Cinema Insomnia on DVD, a free Fan Club membership, a t-shirt (when the next batch is made) and maybe some other stuff we have laying around.
All of those responding with the call letters of a television station which is confirmed to have carried Cinema Insomnia will get one entry into the drawing for the swag package (which we might draw out of an actual hat). We may even tape and post the drawing on our website...
The Cinema Insomnia episode to which you're referring must have been broadcast between August 6 - 15, 2005.
3. Help us get on a qualifying television station - and get a fat CI swag package!
We'll do the "heavy lifting," but if we can get our show aired by a station which was not already listed on our home page (index.html) - and someone in management or the programming staff of the station will give us your name - you win.
What do we mean by a "qualifying" television station? That's easy - any commercial (for-profit) station... any PBS, CBC or BBC affiliate... or any other television channel which has a potential audience of more than 10,000 people. We might well make an exception for a big college station or bartered leased-access channel, among others.

The initial airing of Cinema Insomnia on these stations must occur between August 6 - September 6, 2005.
One more time... the e-mail address for contest entries is
Dreary rules and notes common to all of this month's contests...
- We would like to e-mail you with the occasional news bulletin in the future. If you do not want to receive any e-mail from us, please make it clear in your contest entry and you will not receive any future e-mailings. Otherwise, providing your e-mail address in messages to the contest e-mail address will constitute permission for Cinema Insomnia to send you news about the show and directly related events. We will never sell, share, trade, post or give away any correspondents' personal information or e-mail addresses. All of our news bulletins will contain instructions for opting out of any further e-mail from us to you. Please see our privacy policy for more information.
- Mailing addresses or delivery instructions will be kept in strict confidence.
- If you want to remain anonymous - that is, if you do not want your name to appear on our website or in press releases - please make that clear in your contest entry. We would like to congratulate the winners publicly, but of course we'll respect your wishes.
- For this contest, a maximum of fifty (50) single-episode prizes and twenty (20) swag kits will be available to be won. (We're generally a pretty soft touch, though.)
- No more than three prizes from this contest will be awarded to winners using the same postal or shipping address.
- Webcasting, closed-circuit television, experimental television, or presentation through means other than a television channel obviously doesn't count here.
- Throughout this page, the words "broadcast" or "aired" are used to mean a television channel which displayed Cinema Insomnia using UHF, VHF, high-definition digital transmission, cable or satellite technology.
- In the event of a catastrophic internet event or the unexpected disappearance of our internet service provider, etc., we will do our very best to conduct the contest and notify winners as best we can.
- These rules may be changed, clarified or expanded at any time. If this happens, we will post a notice on our home page (index.html) and highlight the changes on this page in boldface text.
- All matters of dispute and ambiguities will be resolved by Mr. Lobo (or in the event he's finally reached that state of either profound mental or physical incapacity, Mr. Grill) whose decision will be, sadly, final.
- E-mail must be received before 11:59 p.m. Pacific time, August 24, 2005.
