LEPREKONG Month is here!

It’s March, Sleepless Knights! This month, we are celebrating two special occasions. The first half of this month, we are celebrating the mighty KING KONG making his way back to the big screen. The big question is will this film be misunderstood or become a classic among it’s peers? We shall see when March 10th rolls around.

Since 1933, we’ve had a place in our heart for the colossal ape from Skull Island. The legacy behind the monster has created a mass amount of fans, admirers, and platinum blonde maidens (kidnapped by him, of course) over the years. He may have picked his battles, made guest appearances on the covers of comic books, and much more, but KING KONG reigns supreme among his peers GODZILLA and MOTHRA.

May He continue to Reign for years to come!

Leprechaun

The moment March 17th rolls around, though, we are rolling out the proverbial green carpet for the most notorious St. Patrick Day’s villain of all time….THE LEPRECHAUN! He’s mean, he’s sort of green, and he’s here for his pot of gold, Ladies and Gentlemen!

Be prepared for the rest of your march to be filled with cackles, buckles, and this guy searching for anything but lucky charms! Let’s only hope he doesn’t have his pogo stick handy when he comes to visit.

Get ready for March and remember to not touch any gold!

untitled-1Ahh, the devastatingly low low prices, the cool blue buzz of florescent bulbs, the sounds of crying children, the borderline suicidal employees…. This is Walmart as we know it. THE FAKE COBWEBS by Mr. Lobo

THE FAKE COBWEBS By MR. LOBO

Mr. Lobo is going to tell you a wonderful story
about something wonderful that happened to a house
just like yours or a house not entirely unlike yours on Halloween.

It was late October and the walls were all trimmed with cardboard witches and pumpkins and orange and black paper decorations. When children came to the door on Halloween night they would get to see it all. But until that day the front door was shut and locked. The big black pussy that lived in the house saw it with her great green eyes; the Little gray kitty saw it with her little blue eyes; the kind house-dog saw it with his steady brown eyes; Even the sneaky rats that were so afraid of the cat had peeked in when no one was around. But aside from the children who would come for treats on the big day, the little black spiders had not yet seen anything! You see, the spiders lived in the corners — the dark corners of the attic and the dark corners of the cellar.

And they were hoping to see the Halloween Decorations as much as anybody. But just before Halloween there was a great clean-up began around the house. The The Witch who owned the house came sweeping and dusting and wiping and scrubbing, to make everything grand and dean for the Devil Baby’s birthday. Her broom went into all the corners, poke, poke — and of course the spiders had to run. Dear, dear, how the spiders had to run! Not one could stay in the house while the Halloween house cleaning happened. So you see, they couldn’t see the Halloween Decorations. Spiders are very curious, and like to see everything there is to see, and they were very sad. So at last they went to the Devil-Baby and told Him all about it. “All the others get to see the Halloween Decorations, dear Devil-Baby,” they said; “but we, who are so domestic and so fond of beautiful things, we are swept up. We cannot see it at all.” The Devil-Baby was very sorry for the little spiders when He heard this, and He said they should see the Halloween Decorations.

The day before Halloween, when nobody was noticing. He let them all go in the house, to look as long as they wanted. They came creepy, creepy, down the attic stairs, creepy, creepy, up the cellar stairs, creepy, creepy, along the halls — and into the beautiful front room. Their fat mother spiders and the old papa spiders, and all the little teeny, tiny, curly spiders, the baby ones. And then they looked! Round and round the house they crawled, and looked and looked and looked. Oh, what a good time they had! They thought it was perfectly beautiful. And when they looked at every- thing they could see from the floor, they started up the walls and furniture to see some more. All over the room they ran, creepy, crawly, looking at every single thing. Up and down, in and out, over everything the little spiders ran, and saw every one of the pretty things right up close. They stayed until they had seen all there was to see, you can be sure, and then they went away at last, quite happy.

Then, in the still, dark night before Halloween Day, the dear Devil-Baby came, to protect the room with a Hex for the children. But when he looked at it — what do you suppose? — it was covered with cobwebs! Everywhere the little spiders had been they had left a spider-web; and you know they had been just everywhere. So the room was covered with spider-webs, all hanging from the decorations and looped around the chairs; it was a strange sight. What could the Devil-Baby do?

He knew that children do not like cobwebs; They would never let their home be covered with those. No, indeed. So the dear Devil-Baby touched the spider’s webs, and turned them all to neon green and bright-white polyester!

Wasn’t that a lovely trimming?

They shone and shone, all over the beautiful room.

When the which and the children saw these they assumed they were bought from a store and left them in place because they looked so festive!

And that is the way fake cobwebs became traditional Halloween decorations.

Time For a Celebration this Month for CINEMA INSOMNIA!

Mr. Lobo "Rocker" Autographed 8x10 Print

On July 28/29th, 2001, a unknown, misunderstood Horror Host stepped out of the darkness and appeared on the airwaves with his own show entitled CINEMA INSOMNIA. At his side, his longtime companion Miss Mittens emerged from her flower pot to add her two sense about the late night feature shown to the audience.

Now almost 15 years have passed and MR. LOBO is still here, reminding us that “They’re NOT BAD MOVIES-Just Misunderstood”. Sci-fi, horror, mystery, thrillers, and more, he continues to bring us joy through our televisions, tablets, and computers for many years to come!

This month is a continuous celebration of our host and CINEMA INSOMNIA! Every day, there will be an episode shared on our pages for you to reminisce, share, and enjoy with your family. There will also be fun photos, fan art, and many other goodies! If you have any photos or video of you and MR. LOBO, do not hesitate to share them! We will re-post them on our pages throughout the month!

We also want to give a HUGE shout out to you CInsomniacs and Sleepless Knights! If it wasn’t for you, MR. LOBO would not be here today. Thank you all for your continuous support of CINEMA INSOMNIA, MR. LOBO, and all things misunderstood!
