MR. LOBO HOSTS GODZILLA TOMORROW…AND NOW A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS

To get you in the mood for the screening of GODZILLA with Mr. Lobo LIVE and IN PERSON at the ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE WINCHESTER at 5PM and MOTHRA at Midnight tomorrow, we thought we’d share some of the Giant Monster Themed Advertisements or GMTAs that Mr. Lobo scripted and performed for ZOM-BEE TV to be inserted in their programs. For those of you missing the channel from your ROKU. We are coming back soon. ZOM-BEE decided to take over the hosting and streaming of the channel in-house. The channel is going through a testing phase–but has been approved by ROKU for relaunch and will be back any day now. So, don’t worry!

It seems I may have repeated myself in the comments. My computer didn’t show the original message! Ah, technology. Give me the Big Rubber Monsters over CGI effects anyday. Computer effects, Digital Enhancing, etc. Toho had it going on in the Tokyo Golden Age 0f 1955~1975. And Mr.Lobo as always brings a fresh coat of paint to our beloved Rubber Creatures of YesterYear.

Agreed–there is nothing like the TRUE Kaiju genre of suit-making. While I am excited to see Legendary Pictures make up for the debacle that was Tri-Stars irradiated iguana (who I STILL refuse to call ‘G’), there is nothing like the artistry and talent that go into ‘suit-mation’…the buildings alone are masterpieces. Let’s hope the recent rumors are true regarding he statement that Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla WILL be employing the ‘man in suit’ technique in certain areas of the film. I for one feel CGI has cheapened mid to low budget horror and sci-fi to the point of BLASPHEMY! Give me the good ‘ol rubber monsters, blood tubes, and air bladders any day! \m/
